I received my Reiki training using the Usui method. Reiki is a Japanese technique used to reduce stress, promote relaxation and healing using meridians, chakras, auras and life energy. "Rei" means "higher knowledge" or "spiritual wisdom" and "Ki" means "life energy." Negative thoughts can disrupt your Ki (life energy) and you may feel a loss in energy or your organs and body tissue may become blocked by negative energy. When you receive a treatment, the positive Reiki energy will assess where you have blocks and go there, charging them with positive energy. Reiki raises the vibratory level in and around the physical body where you are holding the negative thoughts and feelings and will help release or clear the blocked, unhealthy parts or areas. As Reiki is seen as alternative medicine, I have a separate Informed Consent form and often is not covered under insurance policies.
Emotion Freedom Technique, also known as tapping, has origins in ancient Chinese medicine. EFT uses the same meridians as acupuncture while integrating psychology to physically alter your brain, central nervous system and mind. I use EFT on nine specific meridian points while talking through anxiety and traumatic memories. EFT can be incorporated with both Reiki and Psychotherapy sessions.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a modality that is extremely effective with helping process through and integrate events or stuck memories that are impeding on your ability to live your fullest life. EMDR is a mind-body integrative process. Simplified EMDR is a form of accelerated exposure therapy, working with defense mechanisms, and infused with conscious awareness using a pulsing bilateral energy as a medium to access the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system. EMDR takes you on a journey that activates a relationship change with your trauma experience. I use EMDR within the psychotherapy process.
